Noam Chomsky is the closest thing in the English-speaking world to an intellectual superstar. A philosopher of language and political campaigner of towering academic reputation, who as good as invented modern linguistics, he is entertained by presidents, addresses the UN general assembly and commands a mass international audience. When he spoke in London last week, thousands of young people battled for tickets to attend his lectures, followed live on the internet across the globe, as the 80-year-old American linguist fielded questions from as far away as besieged Gaza.

But the bulk of the mainstream western media doesn’t seem to have noticed. His books sell in their hundreds of thousands, he is mobbed by students as a celebrity, but he is rarely reported or interviewed in the US outside radical journals and websites. The explanation, of course, isn’t hard to find. Chomsky is America’s most prominent critic of the US imperial role in the world, which he has used his erudition and standing to expose and excoriate since Vietnam. Please read on!

The North Wales Lunatic Asylum was the first psychiatric institution built in Wales; construction began in 1844 and completed in 1848 in the town of Denbigh. The U-shaped Tudorbethain style hospital was built due to the spreading word of mistreatment of Welsh people in English asylums; The North Wales Hospital would be a haven for welsh speaking residents to seek treatment without prejudice or a language barrier.
Renovations and extensions were made at the hospital from 1867 until 1956, when the hospital reached its maximum capacity at 1,500 patients living inside her walls and 1,000 staff at hand. Physical treatments such as Cardiazol, malarial treatment, insulin shock treatment, and sulphur based drugs were used and developed in the 1920s and 1930s, and 1941-1942 saw the advent of electro convulsive therapy (ECT) and prefrontal leucotomy (lobotomy) treatments.

I was surprisingly social lately. And it was worth it. I got to know two new people who definitely have the potential to make my life more interesting. Both of them mailed me for somewhat random reasons and if you know me you’re surely aware of the fact that it can take up to a year (in extreme cases ;p) to get a mail back from me but these two actually seemed to be so interesting that I managed to overcome my laziness bustle and get back to them before they forgot that they even tried to talk to me.
I can’t show you Pics of Erik & Justin for Privacy Reasons so have this random Johan Palm Pic ;)
There’s Erik, a 14 year old little Viking from Sweden who’s one of these rare creatures which are smart and cute. Ignoring the fact that a 14 year old Swede speaks way better English than you do is so much easier when the boy in question is as charming and adorable as he is :) If he wouldn’t live so far away I wouldn’t hesitate to ask him out, no matter how many people would want to crucify me for the pedoness of that.
The other one is Justin, a smartass (and I say that with all the imaginable sympathy) from Dublin (he’s actually German ‘tho) and 16 (I should stop mentioning the age of the people I meet, doesn’t really help make my intentions look more innocent hey?). Talking to him is pure joy ‘cause we think alike in so many ways and we share some not so common interests so I’m glad to have found someone I can drool over this & that with ;p

Since working out my real life over the last year worked pretty well it was about time to do the same thing with my digital life :) Therefore I closed some accounts on websites I don’t use anymore, created some new and changed my name on all of them.
I was using different names so far (joshposh, milkjosh, milkboy etc.) but from now own I’ll use the same name on every site I use: milkkore :)
New Ways and such ;)

I’ll take a little break from blogging here over the rest of the month to get some other work done and meeting some friends so if you’d like to come back here in about two weeks, that would be super ^^ Oh, I’ll keep updating milkboys, in case you wondered.

I didn’t sleep much lately so excuse the boringness of the next few lines, will you? :3 Where to start… oh yeah, right: Soja and me were seeing Valravn last weekend and it was incredible! Their live show is even better than their CDs! So much energy, it was truly like dancing into another world. If you ever have the chance to see them, go for it! They will come back to Leipzig for the Wave Gotik Treffen by the way :D
Apropos coming back: Ever struggled to explain to your little innocent cousin (innocent unless he grabs your crotch randomly from time to time!) what Lovecraft’s Cthulhu myths are about? Fear not, help is near! Just show him “The Adventures of Lil Cthulhu” which you can find below :) You should do it before “The strange Adventures of H.P. Lovecraft” gets released ‘cause it’s the best way to convince him to get into that dark theatre with you to see this film :p
Apropos films: I guess most of you saw Let the Right One in, right? The people who read the book know what many people who saw just the film didn’t realise: That the whole thing is actually a queer coming of age story since Eli (the vampire in the story) is in fact a boy even if he looks, acts and sounds like a girl. The film didn’t really put that into your face but ok. The Americans ‘tho… Hollywood can’t stand European films getting attention of course so they obviously make a re-make called “Let Me In”. I do like the film poster but that’s pretty much all about it. Those conservative asshats changed Eli’s name (which is the short form for Elias) to “Abby” so it’s clear that they got rid of every queer part of the story *sigh*
Apropos Eli: That’s the name of the iPod Soja sold me :p I wanted one since a while now, he didn’t need his anymore and so I thought this might be a good way to keep my money away from Apple. It has only 8 GB (actually just 7) so I can’t really get much music on it but that’s ok, I wanted it mostly as a mobile surfing device anyways so I can check my mails, tweets & feeds on the go. That’s all for now, see you around!
Hey, look, Shane has an iPod too. And he’s such a teaser :p

Oh my fucking goodness, I’m so excited, you have no fucking clue haha xD I was browsing through a medieval music shop yesterday and stumbled upon Valravn (both albums are on Spotify), a Danish electro folk band. The cover looked neat, the description sounded interesting and when I read that my favourite band Omnia loves the music of Valravn I knew I had to try them. So I fired up Spotify and tuned in to their two albums and what can I say… I love *every single track* on them! Just wow! If you like me just a little bit you *have* to at least try them (click the MySpace link above) and if you like them please consider buying a CD! They’re on iTunes and 7digital.
The best thing about this is: I just checked their website and, I mean what were the odds!?, they are playing in my hometown tomorrow! I’ll so force Soja to go with me! Did I mention that I’m excited beyond words?

It’s time to use this place as what it was intended for: My personal collection of thoughts and updates for people who care about me. Both of them :D So expect more posts than I did so far. Mostly stuff happening in my online and offline life (nothing *too* personal since it’s still a public blog) and a random picture. Here we go:

I got my first cheques from my new job a while ago and now, three weeks later, they finally got credited to my bank account. So I ordered my new credit card since I need a new one for a new PayPal account (the other four accounts I had where all banned because they said I “sold adult pictures on milkboys.org”.). I couldn’t decide for one motif so I’ll ordered the vampire boy card for now (had to cut out the blood tho because they don’t allow “violent” pictures) and will order the colourful card as my second card later. Or should I take the world card?
Gosh, the ads on Spotify are so annoying. It’s just silly to listen to an über-evil dark electro band and after every three songs you hear some Swedish feel good pop ads! Argh! They are pretty smart ‘tho: If you turn down the volume level while the ad is playing it will just be paused until you turn up the volume again. Apropos: There is now a Spotify for films too in Sweden where you can watch thousands of films for free online. It’s called Voddler and is like Netflix streaming, just without paying for it. Just signed up for it, I love my Swedish IP :D
What else… I guess many of you noticed that Nibblebit, where many epheboblogs were hosted lately, now became the new Blogger rules-wise. They don’t allow *any* pictures of people under 18 anymore so I guess we can consider that idea dead. I was thinking about hosting some of the blogs from there but at the moment I tend to not doing it. It’s just too edgy and I don’t want to put the milkboys server at any risk. I do think that most of them should be legal but if we face the facts we have to admit that a fully clothed 17 year old in a “sexy pose” just is child porn nowadays. As sad as this is.
